We are partnering with Footprint East Neuk and Forth Rivers Trust to plant 700 trees as part of the Balcaskie Wetlands Project, the first intervention on the Dreel Burn to restore the health of the burn. The Balcaskie Wetlands Project is led by Forth Rivers Trust and aims to combat the twin challenges of climate change and declining biodiversity. Planting trees along the banks of the burn will help cool water temperatures, benefitting biodiversity and providing a boost for nature that will also help mitigate the future flooding impacts of climate change. The project is generously supported by Fife Environment Trust and by the Scottish Government’s Nature Restoration Fund, managed by NatureScot.Â
