Steve Liscoe of Fife Council’s Archaeological Unit will provide a brief introduction to the Unit followed by an illustrated talk, highlighting the wide range, and large number, of military sites documented in the Unit’s records that relate to the defence of Scotland during 1939-45, particularly those which fortified Fife against attack and invasion.
The Archaeological Unit provides historical and archaeological advice and information to Fife Council and deals with archaeological and related enquiries from the public and external organisations. Steve has been part of the Unit since 2004 and is responsible for maintaining and developing the Fife Sites & Monuments Record, containing over 11,000 records of archaeological sites for Fife.
