Anster Nicht: Gàidhlig anns an Ànsruthair/ Gaelic in Anster

Date: 20th January 2022
Location: Dreel Halls
Anster Nichts

Folk don’t always associate Gaelic with the East of Scotland, and hardly ever with the East of Fife, but if you know where to look the evidence is around us hidden in plain sight – or so says Gaelic Community Development Worker, Kirsty Strachan.

Based with Fife Council, Kirsty’s role is to support the Gaelic communities in Fife and help map the way for those trying to find their way into the language and culture.  On the 20th January she will take this mapping quite literally,  exploring the placenames of the East Neuk and beyond, to illustrate a linguistic history many are unaware of.

Relaxed and informal, this talk is for anyone curious about language, landscape and history.
